The Schaufler Foundation sponsors talented students
Sindelfingen/Rottenburg, 11/03/2014. The Schaufler Foundation supports students and invites recipients of the "Deutschlandstipendium " National Scholarship Programme to attend a meet and greet. The meeting, which also included a tour of the factory, was held today at the BITZER branch in Rottenburg am Neckar.
Again in 2014, The Schaufler Foundation will be promoting exceptionally gifted and dedicated students in a variety of disciplines with a scholarship. This year, 22 students from the University of Dresden, the University of Stuttgart and Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences will be receiving €300 each month during their studies, financed equally by The Schaufler Foundation and the German government. ‘We want to do something to counteract the lack of specialists and, at the same time, invest in the futures of young people,’ explains Ingo Smit, Director Human Resources at BITZER. ‘That’s why we’re so delighted to be able to meet and get to know the recipients of the scholarship here in Rottenburg.’Senator h. c. Peter Schaufler, CEO of BITZER SE, founded The Schaufler Foundation in 2005. ‘One of the key aims of the Foundation is to promote young people,’ explains Peter Schaufler. ‘That’s why it was immediately clear that we wanted to participate in the "Deutschlandstipendium" National Scholarship Programme, which was launched in 2011.’ Many students benefited from the practical portion of the programme last year: in 2013, The Schaufler Foundation made it possible for ten scholarship recipients to experience production at BITZER first-hand during a visit to the factory in Rottenburg-Ergenzingen. With around 3,200 employees and more than 40 branches, BITZER is the world’s largest independent manufacturer of refrigeration compressors. Just as it did last year, BITZER, the global player and so-called hidden champion, managed to impress the students today.
