Three Times the Happiness in Nuremberg
- Award for mechanical engineering students focusing on refrigeration, air conditioning and environmental technology
- Two bachelor’s degree graduates attained the same overall grade
- A prize was also awarded for a master’s course for the first time
Nuremberg, 14.10.2014. At the trade show Chillventa in Nuremberg, the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences presented the Valerius Füner Prize, which is primarily sponsored by THE SCHAUFLER FOUNDATION, at the BITZER booth. This year, two mechanical-engineering graduates attained the same top overall grade.
For over 30 years, the best students graduating with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering with a focus on refrigeration, air conditioning and environmental technology have been celebrated by the Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences, including with the Valerius Füner Prize since 2001. The eponymous foundation supports the education and further development of engineers in this field. The awards ceremony for the top of the class was held on the first day of Chillventa in Nuremberg. THE SCHAUFLER FOUNDATION, founded by Senator h. c. Peter Schaufler, CEO of BITZER SE, is the primary sponsor of the Valerius Füner Prize. “As a leader in the refrigeration and air conditioning technology sector, we rely on talented young individuals with outstanding qualifications. That’s why we are happy to support young people whose excellent grades set them apart,” explained BITZER Chief Technology Officer Rainer Große-Kracht in his speech during the ceremony.
The outcome was especially joyous this year, as two students received the award: Jochen Gaiser and Samuel Glück completed the bachelor’s degree course with the outstanding overall grade of 1.2. Additionally, for the first time ever, an award was presented for the master’s course in refrigeration technology which was introduced last year. This was awarded to Jascha Rübeling, who received the Valerius Füner Prize two years previously. He completed his master’s degree course with a 1.2 grade.
