Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences ensures the next generation of qualified refrigeration and air conditioning specialists
- Valerius Füner Prize ceremony at Chillventa 2016
- Two award winners with exceptional achievements
- THE SCHAUFLER FOUNDATION donates prize money
Nuremberg/Sindelfingen, 14 October 2016. Representatives of Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences again presented the Valerius Füner Prize at the BITZER trade fair stand at Chillventa 2016. The primary sponsor of the award was THE SCHAUFLER FOUNDATION. This year’s award went to two exceptional mechanical engineering students with a focus on refrigeration and air conditioning.
Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences is highly committed to educating its students. In the discipline of mechanical engineering with a focus on refrigeration, air conditioning and environmental technology, especially successful graduates have been receiving awards for some time now – including the Valerius Füner Prize since 1981. The eponymous foundation which presents the award supports the education and further development of engineers in this field.
This year’s award ceremony was held at the stand of compressor specialist BITZER at 2 p.m. on 11 October, the first day of the Chillventa trade fair. The best in their year, Marius Henne and Tobias Wurz have both earned a bachelor’s degree at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences and are now studying for a master’s degree. Each of the two students received a very good final grade of 1.3 for their course. Marius Henne is spending some time abroad and was unfortunately unable to take part in the ceremony.
Rainer Große-Kracht, Chief Technology Officer of BITZER, thanked everyone present for their contributions and for attending the event: ‘The high quality of education at Karlsruhe University of Applied Sciences also benefits us at BITZER, which is another reason for us to look forward to the Valerius Füner Prize ceremony year after year. After all, it shows us that the future of our industry is secure, thanks to the next generation of highly qualified specialists.’
Founded by Senator h. c. Peter Schaufler, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the BITZER Group for many years, THE SCHAUFLER FOUNDATION supports the award ceremony as the primary sponsor. Christiane Schaufler-Münch, Chairwoman of the Administrative Board of BITZER SE and Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of THE SCHAUFLER FOUNDATION, presented the award winner in attendance with the prize money and a small model compressor.
