Retrofit of R404A/R507A to R448A/R449A
The conversion of systems which are operated with R404A or R507A is necessary because these two refrigerants will become scarce in the EU. Due to the requirements of EU F-Gas Regulation 517/2014 (see also A-510), especially the gradual phase-down, most refrigerants with high GWP will have to be removed from the market (see also Timing for prohibitions).
WARNINGWith respect to the applicable safety regulations, existing systems with R404A/R507A can only be converted to non-flammable refrigerants of the safety class A1.
