In order to allow customers to get the maximum possible added value of our IQ products, BITZER makes its Modbus protocols open to the public and works together with third-party manufacturers to integrate the IQ products in their controllers.

The following benefits can be realised by applying Modbus communication:

• Fewer sensors and thereby less installation effort by reusing sensor values
• Less configuration, wiring effort as well as fewer in- and outputs required on the controller
• Increased compressor/system availability by making use of the multistage alarm system
• Collecting data – having the data of all components available in one place, the system controller

Eckelmann VS 3010

Target application

• System controller for up to five compressors (up to 13 with extension modules). It controls the compressor rack as well as the condenser.

CM-RC-01 Modbus connectivity features

• Available from firmware version 5.78.
• Two compressors with IQ MODULE can be connected via Modus. Using two IQ MODULEs enables the control of one compressor more than usual with the controller, for example five instead of four with the basic controller.
• Compressors can be monitored and controlled via Modbus.
• Discharge gas, low- and high-pressure sensors can be saved on the system side, as the sensor values from the IQ MODULE are used. The IQ MODULEs must be equipped with the pressure sensors.
• Fewer parameters need to be configured in the controller, e.g. pressure sensors.
• Alarms from the IQ MODULE are read out and E*LDS alarms generated out of them which are visible on the different interfaces. The original CM-RC-01 alarm codes can be seen as well.

CM-RC-01 Modbus connectivity features

• The BITZER IQ variant of the Intuitive controller range is required as well as the Modbus Interface Adapter; part number PR0623 DIN.
• Compressors can be monitored and controlled via Modbus.
• The flexibility of the Intuitive BITZER IQ enables up to 8 capacity controlled compressors per section, by applying the IQ Module, allowing for scalable solutions.
• Alarms from the CM-RC-01 (partly grouped) are read out and shown in clear text on the controller and the RDM front-end monitoring solution the DMTouch.
• Additional 10.1” or 4” Intuitive colour touch displays are available allowing the user to view real-time system information, modify parameters and receive audible and visual alarm notifications.
• Through the use of Intuitive Expansion boards the Intuitive BITZER IQ controller I/O can be expanded.
• Along with RDM’s efficient control software a range of energy features and strategies are included within the Intuitive BITZER IQ controller to reduce energy consumption.
