Heating and hot water for 2600 consumers

The district heating in Nykøbing Sjælland, Denmark, is enhanced by four CO₂ heat pumps from Fenagy A/S featuring 24 BITZER 8-cylinder reciprocating compressors with a total capacity of 7.9 MW. Together with a 10 MW electric boiler, a CHP (combined heat and power) system and 9500 m3 of hot water storage, machine operating hours can be adapted to the electricity price. The 24 evaporators of the air-to-water heat pumps are positioned in two groups of 12 opposite each other.
